Marigold (Calendula)
Marigold (Calendula) is a native of Europe but familiar around the world as a yellow or orange ornamental plant. Marigold flowers contain antiseptic, anti-fungal and anti bacterial properties that promote healing. Marigold cleanses the blood and stimulates circulation. Externally applied, the cooled tea soothes burns and improves healing of wounds. Traditionally it has been used for gastrointestinal problems such as ulcers, stomach cramps, colitis and diarrhea. It is also useful taken internally for fever and prevents recurrent vomiting.
